Join the San Ramon Valley Education Foundation’s 41st Run for Education on Sunday, October 13, 2024. Walk, run, roll, or stroll with friends, family, neighbors, teammates, and colleagues in support of our schools. Come for The Run and stay for the fun: kids’ zone, inflatable games, face painter, balloon artist, photo booth, live entertainment, and more!

The Run for Education is a community tradition in the San Ramon Valley spanning 41 years. By participating, you are helping fund STEAM grants and innovative programs across our 35 San Ramon Valley Unified School District (SRVUSD) public schools representing the communities of Alamo, Danville, and San Ramon. The Run for Education is the largest run that supports education in Northern California.

The 10K starts at Charlotte Wood Middle School (600 El Capitan Drive, Danville).

All other events take place at 2700 Camino Ramon (BR 2700) in San Ramon, adjacent to City Center.

Virtual Runner

Run when and where you want, while supporting our San Ramon Valley schools.

Mini Run

for our youngest athletes ages 2 – 6 (.30 mi course approx)

Get your mini superhero ready to join the fun. This event is appropriate for “mini runners” ages 2-6. All participants will receive a shirt, a cape, a medal and post-race treats after their “race.” Come early to enjoy the Kids’ Zone and the Expo for Education.

Friendship Run

for our athletes with special needs. Walk, run or roll (.30 mi course approx)

Join us for this remarkable event for our athletes with special needs and their supporters. Participants can walk, roll, or run with a friend or caregiver and will receive a shirt and medal. One friend/caregiver for each student may register for free and has the option of buying a shirt.

Double the Fun!

Get your Sunday steps in with your friends, family, neighbors, teammates, fellow Scouts, and clubs! Participating together is a healthy way to promote your group while raising money for public education. NEW THIS YEAR: A hospitality tent at our Expo for community groups of 10 or more registered for the 5K or 10K – a perfect meeting spot for your group.* PLUS, mentions of your group here on our website and in our newsletter.

    HOW?

    Simply complete registration below, and you are in!

    Once you are registered, you can expect to receive a few emails from us explaining all the details.

    WHAT EVENTS?

    We have four events:

    • Mini Run – for our youngest athletes ages 2 – 6 (.30 mi course approx)
    • Friendship Run – for our athletes with special needs. Walk, run or roll (.30 mi course approx)
    • 5K – start and finish in San Ramon
    • 10K – start in Danville and finish in San Ramon
    • Virtual Runner – Run when and where you want, while supporting our San Ramon schools.
    HOW MUCH?

    All 10K, 5K, Mini Run, and Friendship Run participants must be registered. For participants’ safety, bibs must be worn on the front of their shirts while on the course. Only those with bibs are allowed on the course.

    Participants under 12 years old as of race day, are $5.00 off.

    5% discount for registrations of 4 or more at the same time.

    CAN A SIBLING OR ADULT RUN WITH A MINI RUNNER?

    Only those with a Mini Run bib will be allowed on the Mini Run course. Two-year-old participants may be accompanied by one parent/guardian.

    T-SHIRTS?

    Of Course! Mini, Friendship, 5K & 10K registration includes a shirt and a souvenir medal. We encourage you to sign up by September 15, 2024 and pick up your shirt early at one of our pre-race packet pickups for the best chance of receiving the shirt size and type you would like.

    Virtual Runners may optionally order a shirt.

    WHERE WILL THE MONEY GO?
    The San Ramon Valley Education Foundation works in collaboration with the San Ramon Valley Unified School District to fund priority initiatives within our schools, such as district level grants, STEAM programs, professional learning, and individual teacher grants.
    FUNDRAISING?

    Every registration automatically generates a fundraising page.

    By sharing their personal page with their family and friends, every participant can use their fundraising page to raise money that directly support their school.

    All revenue raised via personal fundraising pages will be split as follows:

    • 70% of Net donations will be returned to the school of choice
    • 30% of Net donations will be used by SRVEF to fund district initiatives.

    Note:  Donation processing fees are subtracted from total donations for the purpose of calculating revenue sharing.

    All funds raised on fundraising team pledge pages not affiliated with SRVUSD schools will be considered donations to SRVEF. SRVEF funds District-wide initiatives that benefit all students.

    ARE DOGS ALLOWED?
    No, please leave your pooches at home.
    ARE STROLLERS ALLOWED?
    Yes, but please line up at the back of the group.
    IS THERE A BAG CHECK?
    No.
    RESULTS?

    The 5K and 10K will both be timed. After the race, you will be able to print a certificate.

    TRAINING?

    Looking to train with a group? Consider joining these local running clubs:

    Forward Motion Run Club on Wednesdays at 6:30pm

    Sports Basement San Ramon Run Group on Thursdays at 6:30pm and Saturdays at 8:30am

    Parking & Shuttle

    Parking

    Parking for ALL events is at 2633 Camino Ramon (Bishop Ranch 3) across from the Expo for Education. Parking can ONLY be accessed from northbound Camino Ramon. Turn onto Camino Ramon from Bollinger. Note: Camino Ramon will be closed from the North at Norris Canyon.

    10K Shuttle

    The 10K starts at 8am at Charlotte Wood Middle School. 10K participants should park at Bishop Ranch 3 and board one of the 2 shuttle buses, starting at 6:45am. There are NO return shuttles to Charlotte Wood MS after the event if you choose to park at Charlotte Wood and run to San Ramon, you will be on your own for finding transportation back to Charlotte Wood MS.
