10K Race Information

The Run for Education 10K is certified by USA Track & Field (USATF) and is a perfect option for runners who want to maintain their motivation and fitness while training for longer distance racing. The Run For Education 10k is USATF certified.

  • It's a great stepping stone to a half marathon.
  • It's not as intense as a 5K or as long as a half.
  • You can be ready for a 10K in a few weeks.

Our course is a flat point to point course. Starting at Charlotte Wood Middle School in Danville you wind through the residential neighborhoods of southern Danville before jumping on the Iron Horse Trail for a straight shot south to San Ramon covering about 3 miles before you enter Bishop Ranch. At that point (Norris Canyon Road) the course connects with the 5k course for the final 3 miles to the finish line at Iron Horse Middle School in San Ramon.

Start Time 8:00 amT-shirt and Bib Pick-UpSaturday, September 30th from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at our Health and Wellness Expo and Spirit Day event at Iron Horse Middle School located at 12601 Alcosta Blvd. in San Ramon.

Important timing chip information!Timing chips for the 10k run will be attached to your bib. Upon picking up your bib and t-shirt, you will be given instructions on how to attach your timing chip to your shoe. DO NOT remove the timing chip from your bib until race day. The timing chip is disposable, so no need to return it after the race.

T-ShirtsThe first 500 runners to register for the 10k will receive a long sleeved performance T shirt in lieu of the regular 100% cotton race shirt. The first 50 females and 50 males to complete each race (5kand 10k) will receive a special promotional item commemorating their accomplishment.

Youth ShirtsWe will continue to have our 100% cotton race shirts in youth sizes. The youth sizes are popular, so come early to pick-up your shirts. First come, first served. Sizes limited. 10k Finisher medal – Complete the 10k and receive the Run for Education finisher medal.

Pre-race Shuttle & Parking InformationThere is limited parking at Charolotte Wood Middle School in Danville (10k starting line). 10k runners can park in the Bishop Ranch 15 parking lot in San Ramon and catch the shuttle to the 10k starting line. Street parking near the start line is discouraged. Shuttles will pick up runners from Alcosta Blvd. and Woodland across from Iron Horse and will run every 10 minutes between 6:45 am - 7:40 am to bring 10k runners to the start line at Charlotte Wood Middle School in Danville. There is no shuttle service after the 10k race.
